Special-needs teachers need to have a keen understanding of how children with special needs differ from other children in their educational requirements. That's why all teachers and educators in Colorado may need to take the PLACE Early Childhood Special Education Test if they plan to work with special-needs students.
The PLACE Early Childhood Special Education Test covers three areas:
Understanding young children with special needs (how disabilities affect learning processes, placement, medical aspects)
Promoting young children's growth and development
Working in a collaborative learning community
All questions on the PLACE Early Childhood Special Education Test are multiple choice and will come from these broad categories. To study for the exam, you should find a detailed outline of the three areas listed above and use that outline to shape your study time. Your score for the exam comes from how many questions you answer correctly.
