PLACE Administrator Test

If you want to become a school or district administrator in the state of Colorado, you will need to pass the PLACE Administrator Test as part of the licensure process. "PLACE" stands for Program for Licensing Assessments for Colorado Educators, and is required for all educators in Colorado.

The PLACE Administrator Test covers three areas of knowledge that all administrators are required to have mastered:

  1. Educational Leadership. Understanding the importance of vision, the application of decision-making and problem-solving skills, and the principles of educational accountability.
  2. Educational Management. Understanding the principles of financial planning and human resource planning.
  3. Curriculum Development and Instructional Leadership. Understanding how to create effective curriculum and learning environments, and the basic principles of educational/social psychology.

The PLACE Administrator Test is multiple choice and your score is based on the total number of test questions answered correctly.
